Mingling with historic reminders, modern structures serve as a display of how much our wonderful city has grown and matured. Once known as the homestead of New London, the city of Snellville received its name sometime in the 1880’s from its founders, Thomas Snell and James Sawyer, and obtained its charter from the General Assembly of the State of Georgia in 1923.
